StartupNC, the regional arm of Startup America, on Thursday held a strategy meeting in the American Underground that attracted more than 75 entrepreneurs.

The meeting, which featured Startup America CEO Scott Case and was organized by the StartupNC regional team, provided entrepreneurs a direct forum to discuss the Triangle’s assets for entrepreneurship and challenges that startups and the region face in today’s environment.

The Startup America team challenged those in the room to develop a central vision for entrepreneurship in the region.

The central ideas that emerged included developing a national brand for entrepreneurship in the Triangle, ensuring that the Triangle is seen as a place “to have your startup, and enjoy your life, too,” as one entrepreneur put it; increasing access to early-stage funding and resources that could help an entrepreneur bootstrap their company; and the creation of a “digital front door” that would serve as a resource-map and a digital guide to the region’s success stories and startup data.
