Zift Solutions, a venture capital-backed startup, has acquired a channel marketing rival and also has raised additional financing.

Last week, Zift said it was buying Marketing Advocate.

“As Marketing Advocate has been working with channel organizations for nearly 10 years supporting Through Partner Marketing campaign design and implementation, we strongly believe that combining the best of both solutions into one cohesive organization will provide customers with expanded product functionality and capabilities, as well as a larger global support team to meet key goals and drive more channel revenue,” said Ken Romley, CEO of Zift Solutions, in a statement.

In a new securities filing as reported by the Triangle Business Journal, Zift disclosed it has raised $3 million in a new round with a goal of raising $3.625 million.

The company, which is backed by Southern Capitol Ventures in Raleigh, raised some $2.5 million in previous rounds.

“Zift Solutions will extend its operations with the addition of the Marketing Advocate team and office in Centerville, Mass.,” Zift said when the deal was announced. “The Marketing Advocate brand will be consolidated into Zift Solutions, with all products and services known as Zift Solutions moving forward.”
