Can the Internet of Things make for a better adult beverage experience?

So far, so good.

Apex startup BruVue, which already has earned attention from NC IDEA, is helping players across the entire beer ecosystem improve efficiency through data.

Its technology also won an Internet of Things competition.

Why?

“Inventory management systems for bars cost between $1,000 and $6,000 and require professional installation. The BruVue system is the only system that can be ordered online, dropped onto beer faucets and setup with an app in minutes,” says CEO Christopher Lorkowski.

BruVue will be demonstrating its technology at the CED Tech Venture Conference on Sept. 19-20 in Raleigh.

The Q&A

  • What is the focus of your business?

BruVue’s provides real-time inventory and product performance data to the entire beer ecosystem.

  • What is the top pain point/business application you are seeking to address?

Bar and restaurant owners often have no indication how much beer remains in a tapped keg. Currently, the only means to obtain this information include archaic methods such as reviewing inaccurate point of sales data or lifting kegs and guessing. Beer waste costs bars and restaurants an average of $12,000 per year.

  • What makes it unique?

Inventory management systems for bars cost between $1,000 and $6,000 and require professional installation. The BruVue system is the only system that can be ordered online, dropped onto beer faucets and setup with an app in minutes.

  • Why should investors be interested in your firm?

BruVue has closed pre-seed investment, won the NC IDEA Grant and won the RIoT Pitch Night Competition.

BruVue is also launching customer pilots at one of the top 5 largest breweries in the US, a stadium, several distributors and several national franchises with more than 1,500 locations.

BruVue will roll out to 1,500 locations in 2018 to achieve $5.4 million in annual revenue.

  • How are you financed at this point?
