Representatives of Startup North Carolina are in Washington, D.C. for a meeting with the Obama Administration about the importance of entrepreneurs to the economy.
Several other states also will be attending.
The groups, all affiliated with Startup America, are scheduled to meet with the Small Business Administration, Office of Science and Technology Policy and the Department of Commerce will take part in the meeting.
North Carolina’s representatives include:
- Brooks Bell, founder of Brooks Bell and co-founder of The HUB in Raleigh
- Chris Heivly, managing director, Triangle Startup Factory
- Adam Hill, director of Packard Place in Charlotte
- Adam Klein, chief strategist of the American Underground in Durham
- Mital Patel, a lawyer focused on working with entrepreneurs
- Scott Moody, First Talent Ventures
- Rick Terrell, a technologist from Charlotte
Other groups scheduled to attend include: Startup Arizona, Startup Colorado, Startup DC, Startup Indiana, Startup Iowa, Startup Maryland, Startup Nebraska, Startup Tennessee, Startup Texas and Startup Virginia.
