Some advice for startup entrepreneurs: “Perfectionism can ruin the best of ideas. Identify it early to save your company.” So warns Chris Heivly, co-founder and co-manager of The Startup Factory accelerator in Durham.

WRAL TechWire likes to highlight top-drawer thinking from people such as Heivly, Vivek Wadhwa, Dr. Michael Walden, ExitEvent’s Laura Baverman – and more to come.

In a blog published at Inc.com, Heivly takes on the perils of perfectionism.

“Perfectly designed product that no one cares about is a waste of your time and potentially your investor’s money,” he writes.

“Let’s be honest, we all know someone who plays the ‘quality is the only attribute worth measuring’ argument at every meeting. There is no room for that person in a startup. The idea of ‘good enough’ is the only approach during the startup phase.”
