CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Shaw Power Group is adding some 225 additional jobs – mostly in engineering – to its growing work force in Charlotte.
The company announced the expansion at the annual Charlotte Chamber of Commerce annual meeting earlier this week.
The jobs will pay an average salary of $95,000.
Shaw already employs some 1,100 people in Charlotte where it focuses on the nuclear power industry.
The expansion comes after Shaw struck an agreement with Toshiba to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for nuclear power plants outside of Japan and Vietnam. The agreement also includes two nuclear power units in Texas.
