SDN Global, which recently added satellite capabilities in Germany, has also purchased a satellite uplink facility in Atlanta from ITC^DeltaCom.

Terms were not disclosed. The deal closed on Jan. 1

SDN Global said it now has access to six satellite earth stations in the US. These and the German facility are linked by a fiber network. The company “now has the capability of offering multinational enterprises with broadband services virtually anywhere in the world,” SDN said in a statement.

SDN said it also would provide services to customers now using satellite services from ITC^DeltaCom.

“This transaction provides continuity of service options to our loyal satellite customer base and continues the fifteen year legacy of providing world-class satellite technology solutions, network services, and support from our Atlanta Uplink Facility,” said Robert Taylor, manager of ITC^DeltaCom’s satellite business unit.

SDN said the Atlanta facility would serve as a network operations center.
