Cary-based SAS Institute is no stranger to best-places-to-work lists, topping many. Now it is on another best list: “The 7 Best Employers for Single Parents” by personal finance site Wirebread.com. SAS Institute lands at number 4 on the iist.

Another tech firm with a major RTP presence, IBM, was number one, followed by General Mills and Cogate Palmolive.

SAS, it notes “Has become a favorite of workers. In 2013, Fast Company Magazine featured SAS in a story headlined “How SAS Became the World’s Best Place to Work,” and employment site Glassdoor ranked SAS highly in its most recent “Top 25 Companies for Work-Life Balance” list.”

SAS it points out, offers single parents the option to work fewer hours (it has a 35-hour work week), discounted child care, and an onsite healthcare clinic and onsite gym as well as free work-life couseling.
