As the Internet of Things tsunami continues to build toward what Cisco and other companies forecast as a multi-trillion-dollar opportunity, research firm Parks Associates is out with a new report about what its analysts believe are the hottest IoT trends for 2016.

“The ability and effort to extend convenience and ease of use to consumers through technology are key disruptors we identify across multiple sectors,” said Stuart Sikes, President of Parks Associates. “In the mobile and smart home industries, voice control is a key disruptor, creating a new user interface for many new connected home experiences. In digital health, wearable sensors that require minimum effort to function will deliver a wealth of health and wellness information to both consumers and providers in order to curate customized care experiences.”

Parks Associates unveiled its findings at its annual Connections conference at CES in Las Vegas.

“The Internet of Things (IoT) has expanded to influence every aspect of the broadband household and connected consumer. Connected CE and smart devices can leverage the IoT to offer new and innovative functionality, including data analytics and personalization, and create new business opportunities in connected entertainment and smart home solutions,” Parks says.
