Jim Whitehurst, CEOf of Red Hat, is the winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in technology award for the southeast.

Whitehurst was among 11 winners announced Thursday night in Atlanta.

He will be eligible for a national EY award later this year.

“This year’s dynamic leaders have turned their vision into reality, making impressive contributions to their communities and impacting those around them,” said Brad Duncan, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year program principal. “We are excited be celebrating 30 years of Entrepreneur Of The Year awards with the 2016 recipients.”
