Red Hat is investing some $13 million and adding as many as 60 jobs as part of an expansion of its operations in Ireland.

The Raleigh-based Linux software and services giant already has three offices in Ireland.

The new expansion will be made in Waterford, which was the headquarters of mobile software firm FeedHenry in 2014.

Other Red Hat offices are located in Cork and Dublin.

“This is terrific news for Waterford and the South East and I warmly welcome the creation of up to 60 high value R&D jobs which Red Hat has committed to create here over the next four years,” said Mary Mitchell O’Connor, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.

This investment of [$13 million] shows the confidence Red Hat (NYSE: RHT) has in its Waterford staff and also in its ability to source highly skilled workers. This is a great day for Waterford and the South East region.”
