The National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative acquires privately held NeoNova, which works with telecom companies to provide a variety of Internet services.
NeoNova, which recently expanded and move its offices to Raleigh, will remain based in the Capital City.
Ray Carey, the firm’s chief executive officer, will remain with NeoNova, the companies said in a statement.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The NRTC and NeoNova focus on telecommunications providers.
NeoNova expects to add more services as a result of the deal.

The NRTC and NeoNova provide such services as email, web hosting, network management, circuit management and help desk.
The NRTC works with more than 1,500 rural utilities and affiliates across 48 states. Collectively they serve 20 million homes and 50 million people. It was founded in 1986.
