RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – The Board of Directors of the Research Triangle Regional Partnership (RTRP) has elected Gary K. Joyner as its chair for the coming two years.

Joyner, managing partner for the Raleigh office of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton Law Firm, previously served as RTRP’s chair-elect.

John M. Kane, president of Raleigh-based Kane Realty Corporation, will now serve as the organization’s chair-elect.

Ronnie Goswick, economic development director for Franklin County, will continue his role as RTRP secretary.

The board also re-elected Pat Corso, executive director of Moore County Partners in Progress, as treasurer.

Charles Hayes will continue serving as RTRP’s president and CEO.

Joyner has served on the RTRP board of directors since 2004. He has long been active on the boards of the North Carolina Chamber and the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, which he chaired in 2010-2011. He is a former president of Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake County, on whose board he has served continuously since 1987.

“I’m very excited about the opportunities ahead for this award-winning organization and for our fast-growing region,” Joyner said.

Joyner succeeds Jack Clayton, executive vice president at Wells Fargo, whose two-year term as RTRP chair ended June 30. Clayton will continue to serve the organization in the role of immediate past chair.

The RTRP provides marketing and strategic economic development coordination for North Carolina’s Research Triangle Region. RTRP comprises economic development organizations that represent a wide range of partners to ensure the region remains economically competitive at a global level.
