Laura Robinette, a familiar face to the Triangle area’s entrepreneurial community, is taking over as the managing partner of PricewaterhouseCooper’s Raleigh office.

On Wednesday, PwC US announced Robinette is taking the top Raleigh position, succeeding Tim Throndson, who has relocated to Cleveland.

Robinette has been actively involved in startup and emerging companies for PwC and also has led PwC’s local MoneyTree venture capital report as well as related programs, taking over from Jeff Barber who retired and later entered venture banking.

Robinette will continue to lead the firm’s Emerging Company Services practice.

“Laura has been a high impact leader, driving growth in the market and serving as a champion for our people,” said Matt Kosmiski, Managing Partner of PwC’s Carolinas Market. “As the leader of our Raleigh office, Laura will focus her efforts on bringing the best of PwC’s advisory, assurance and tax services to clients in the region.”

Robinette became a PwC partner in 2008.

“I am excited about the opportunities we have in the Raleigh market,” Robinette said. “Our focus will be on sustaining the strong growth and client relationships that we have enjoyed here by continuing to provide our clients with the quality service they have come to expect from PwC.”

Robinette is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is a member of the board of directors for the Council for Entrepreneurial Development.
