PowerSecure (Nasdaq: POWR) will get a power boost in terms of publicity on Wednesday.

The Wake Forest-based power technology firm is moving its stock to the NYSE from the Nasdaq as of Wednesday.

As a perk, the New York Stock Exchange selected PowerSecure executives to ring the opening ball on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

“We are honored to celebrate our first day of trading on the NYSE, another milestone for PowerSecure, by ringing The Opening Bell,” said Sidney Hinton, chief executive officer of PowerSecure, in a statement.

PowerSecure has had numerous other reasons to celebrate recently, from earnings news to a $37 million stock sale.
