Allen Skipper, a 12-year veteran at data hosting, IT solutions and managed services provider Peak 10, is taking on a new role as chief commercial officer.

Skipper formerly served as vice president and general manager. He also has held roles as regional vice president and senior vice president of market operations.

The privately held, Charlotte-based company describes the change is Skipper’s role as a realignment of “all commercial and demand-creation functions” within a new structure.

“With Allen now serving as our Chief Commercial Officer, we aim to increase our speed to market and focus on improving the overall experience of our customers as they make important decisions about their IT infrastructure,” said David Jones, Peak 10’s founder and chief executive officer. “This new position and alignment will help us extract maximum value from our operational investments, drive efficiencies and improve our scale. And it is one more step to realizing the strategic goals that we have laid out for Peak 10.”

Peak 10 operates data centers in 10 markets, including the Research Triangle.
