Whether you ride the free shuttle from the Triangle or drive yourself, getting to Wilson for Friday’s ‘Growing the Gigabit Ecosystem’ is easy.

Reserve your seat on the shuttle by using promotional code “wralshuttle” on the Eventbrite. A bus will leave Friday morning at 7 a.m. from RTP’s The Frontier, at 800 Park Offices Drive, and from WRAL Studios, at 2619 Western Blvd. in Raleigh, at 7:30 a.m.

The return from Wilson will depart the Edna Boykin Cultural Center at about 12:15 p.m.

For those who make the drive, the City of Wilson has opened four public parking lots within a block walk of the center.

WRAL TechWire’s Executive Exchange will feature a keynote by former FCC Chief of Staff Blair Levin. Levin will provide analysis as to what Google Fiber’s delay in expansion may mean for the gigabit infrastructure itself. Is it bad news, and will it lead to more metro-funded fiber networks?

We will also be highlighting the transformation of a former tobacco town into the first gigabit ecosystem in North Carolina, and learning how ultra-high speed Internet is helping spur innovation across industries.
