Geomagic has released a new suite of computer-aided design software.

3D Systems (NYSE:DDD), the company that acquired Morrisville-based Geomagic earlier this year, announced the release of Geomagic Design, which offers new tools and enhancements that allow users to work in two and three dimensions. Geomagic says the software can be used to create intricate, organic designs, for making items such as toys and jewelry.

Geomagic has developed an array of software tools used to create 3D content for various design and manufacturing applications. The company has been a partner with Rock Hill, S.C.-based 3D Systems for years. 3D systems completed its Geomagic acquisition in February; in subsequent securities filing, 3D systems disclosed it paid $55 million to buy the company.
