The North Carolina Technology Association’s “Go Global” talks series continues on June 24 with a session on protecting intellectual property in China.

The talk, hosted in partnership with the N.C. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Small Business Administration, will cover the necessary steps North Carolina businesses need to take when registering and protecting IP in China. The talk will also cover the eligibility and application process for special grants available for some of the costs for establishing and protecting IP in China.

Confirmed speakers include Jean Davis, the Commerce Department’s assistant secretary of commerce for international trade; Jack Hicks, partner at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice; and Michael Zapata, executive chairman of Raleigh company Protochips.

The event will be held at the headquarters of the Research Triangle Park Foundation, 12 Davis Dr., in RTP. Registration starts at 11 a.m. Admission is free for NCTA members. Nonmembers must pay a small fee. Lunch will be provided.
