Anuva Services, a five-year-old firm focused on manufacturing, logistics and after-market services, is moving into the LED lighting business.

The privately held firm disclosed Tuesday it haa acquired a manufacturing facility in Morrisville, has retained 22 workers and plans to hire more.

The plant was owned by Innovative Electronic Solutions Lighting, which remains in business.

Terms of the plant acquisition were not disclosed.

“All [the workers] have already been made offers with Anuva and started on jan. 2,” an Anuva spokesperson told WRALTechWire.

“Anuva purchased all of the manufacturing assets as well as the inventory within the Morrisville facility.”

The operation covers 15,000 square feet.

Anuva plans to announce additional jobs at the Morrisville facility as well as at an operation in Florida. (Resumes can be sent to: info@anuvaresource.com)

The decision to buy the plant was made because of growth in the LED industry, says Vinu Patel, founder and chief executive officer of Anuva.

“This strategic purchase will dramatically increase Anuva’s capability in the fast-growing LED manufacturing space within North Carolina,” Patel said in the announcement. “Our southeast expansion will help us build a regional niche market as well as stimulate jobs and the economy in the greater Research Triangle Park area.”

Patel cited recent research from Reportlinker.com that projects 45 percent annual growth through 2019 for the LED industry.
