Raleigh-based MD Interconnect Inc., which sells a mobile healthcare communications system called Rapid Connect, has raised $150,000 of a $350,000 equity offering according to a regulatory filing.

While in the hospital recently, and dealing with a health problem for year, we noted that our provider’s treatment protocols were excellent, but the communication between departments and doctors was not.

MD Interconnect notes on its web site that: “The emergence of hospital based and out patient focused practices has made communication more difficult. Outpatient clinicians too often do not know how to get in touch with the correct consultant and consultants are unfamiliar with the referring practice.”

MD interconnect says that its Rapid Connect is a new cloud-based mobile and web application that allows clinicians to communicate quickly, easily, and securely, improving patient care and efficiency while reducing costs.

The company said the product streamlines access to physicians and services for patients, maintains confidentiality of personal information, eliminates the need to carry multiple devices, and facilitate seamless communication, among other benefits.

The company reported the raise in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1668457/000166845716000001/xslFormDX01/primary_doc.xml
