Now if only they could just push some of that bandwidth to homes then we would have something to talk about.

In my subdivision (in Apex mind you, not out in the sticks by any stretch of the imagination) Time Warner has a monopoly on broadband. AT&T has a Fiber-to-the-Curb deployment in place that they wont even sell DSL over. It's "not available". Even when it was available it was topped out at 3 Meg, which was pretty good in 1999 or so.
