Lenovo is launching a new version of its WRITEit app that enables users to turn touch screen devices into a digital canvas for writing, drawing, and more.

The app is free.

WRITEit 2.0 will work with Lenovo Windows 8 and 10 touch screen devices.

The world’s top PC seller says users who have or add a Lenovo digital pen will gain “an even richer multimedia experience.”

“With a pen or finger, users can easily write on, draw, highlight, doodle or mark anything on their screen,” Lenovo says.

“Users can even create a blank canvas to write or draw and express their creativity. WRITEit 2.0 lets users save their creations as an image and then quickly send it and share it with others.”

Twelve colors, three widths and four highlighter colors along with an eraser is part of the app’s tools.

WRITEit offers:

  • Converts handwriting to text in real time
  • Write anywhere, no need for special writing to text apps
  • Gets onscreen keyboard out of your way
  • Use gestures to make quick edits
