Are you ready for some football? Lenovo certainly is and the PC maker, now an official NFL sponsor, wants to give one fan a closer experience to the game.

Lenovo is holding a “Fantasy Coach of the Year” contest that will give one fan the chance to play a real-life coach for the 2014 Pro Bowl. Entering the contest is easy: All fantasy players on NFL.com/Fantasy will be automatically entered.

The winning fantasy coach will participate in the Pro Bowl player draft on January 22. The winner will then be flown to Hawaii to join Pro Bowl Alumni Captains Deion Sanders and Jerry Rice, current NFL stars and another NFL.com fantasy football champion to help select one of the two teams playing in the January 26 game. The winner will also have the opportunity to watch the first quarter from the sideline.

But wait, there’s more. The winning fantasy player will also be crowned in New York at the “Third Annual NFL Honors” show on Feb. 1, the eve of the Super Bowl. On top of that, the winner gets two tickets to watch Super Bowl XLVIII.

The winning fantasy player will be selected after the regular season. An algorithm will be used to determine the winner, combining win-loss percentages, league championships, a difficulty-of-league index and a “quality moves” indicator – taking into account sit/start point differential.

Lenovo, which maintains a global executive headquarters in Morrisville, is the official laptop, desktop and workstation of the NFL. No purchase of Lenovo computers or any other products is required to enter the contest. But Lenovo will use the contest to provide a marketing boost for its brand and its computers. Lenovo is partnering with The Onion to produce an eight-part online video series that tracks the exploits of one hapless fantasy football coach, Brad Blevins, who has been at the bottom of his fantasy league for years. The series, titled “Tough Season,” will be released throughout the season and in addition to featuring some NFL stars they’ll also feature Lenovo products.

The Fantasy Coach of the Year contest is open only to those 18 and older at the time of entry. The entry deadline is Sept. 5. For more information, go to nfl.com/fantasy.
