IBM is buying Georgia-based Clearleap, a provider of cloud-based video services targeting ways to monetize it, in the latest of several recent acquisitions.

The deal was announced Tuesday, Financial terms were not disclosed.

“The move aims to empower users to access video from any device at any time and use it as a strategic source of data,” IBM (NYSE: IBM) said.

Among clients for Clearleap are HBO, A+E Networks, BBC America and Time Warner Cable.

In October, IBM said it was acquiring two firms, including Cleversafe which is a video storage technology firm.

IBM says “visual information” is at a “tipping point.”

IBM employs several thousand people across North Carolina and operates one of its new cloud data centers in RTP.
