Raleigh-based Republic Wireless is upping its product offerings with a customized Moto X smartphone from Motorola – and it’s having a party tonight to celebrate the launch. Guest star is Grammy Award winner Coolio.

Unfortunately, if you haven’t already registered to attend the event is at capacity.

Coolio headlines the show that kicks off at 8 p.m. at the Raleigh Contemporary Art Museum.

“As the Republic Wireless Moto X generates national attention, everyone at Bandwidth is eager to share our new phone with the community here that’s been so supportive,” says Noreen Allen, who heads media relations for Bandwidth.

“Our party at CAM will allow folks here in Raleigh and the entire Triangle to experience the Republic Moto X first hand,” she added. “At the same time, we’ll treat our friends to a celebration that is meant as a very sincere ‘thank you’ for the great support we’ve received in Raleigh and the region. We only wish we could host more people.”

Earlier this year, Bandwidth decided to improve the quality of the phone it is offering customers for a flat-rate service that mixes Wi-Fi and 3G cellular coverage.

The lack of a cutting-edge smartphone had been one of the biggest needs customers and potential users had pressed Bandwidth to add.

Bandwidth also plans at some point to embrace faster 4G Long-Term Evolution technology for mobile broadband speeds.
