Herbalife, a healthcare company that makes a variety of products from personal care to sports and fitness, is expected to announce today it has selected Winston-Salem as the site for a 500-job facility.

Gov. Bev Perdue is expected to announce the decision Wednesday at 2 p.m.

The location reportedly is the formerly Dell (Nasdaq: DELL) computer and server manufacturing plant that Dell shut down two years ago.

Herbalife is expected to employ some 493 people at the massive 750,000 square foot facility.

Dell shuttered the plant when it decided to move production to Mexico.

The company employed some 1,400 people at the facility.
