Technology Business Research Inc.’s (TBR) 3Q15 Business Intelligence Professional Services Customer Research report shows business intelligence (BI) professional services demand continues to grow, with at least 90 percent of BI software purchasers surveyed using or evaluating services.

“Customers continue to devour BI solutions in the quest for deeper business insights and competitive advantage, creating opportunities for C&SI vendors to help buyers assess their BI landscape and consider how best to proceed with deployments,” said TBR Professional Services Analyst Jennifer Hamel. “For customers taking a break from new BI purchases, managed services remain an avenue for professional services vendors to optimize efficiency and generate more value from existing BI software packages.”

TBR surveyed 227 end users of BI professional services across North America, western Europe, India and China to provide IT services executives with insight into customer adoption trends, buying behavior and the competitive landscape. The survey found customers expect to increase annual spending on BI professional services by approximately 10% in 2016.

IBM, SAP, Microsoft, Oracle leaders

IBM, SAP, Microsoft and Oracle remain the market leaders, as customers still value services bundled into technology purchases. C&SI vendors have a higher bar to cross to establish added value and gain mindshare, but industry-oriented solutions position Accenture and Capgemini above their C&SI peers.
