The new chairman of the board at Raleigh-based clean technology firm Sensus is a familiar face.

Lou D’Ambrosio, a board member at Sensus for the past three years, has replaced Jonathan Boucher, the company announced Monday.

Boucher remains a member of the board.

“Lou has been an invaluable Board member over the past three years. His leadership, strategic savvy and customer focus will serve Sensus very well,” Boucher said in a statement. “We are delighted Lou has agreed to assume the role of Chairman and will be an integral part of our company going forward.”

According to Sensus, D’Ambrosio “will lead the overall strategy and direction of the company, working closely with management and the Board.”

D’Ambrosio is a former CEO of Sears and Avaya. He also worked at IBM for 16 years.

“I am excited to become more deeply engaged with Sensus and the team,” D’Ambrosio said. “Sensus is a true leader in smart grid and clean technology solutions across electric, water and gas — yielding cost savings and environmental benefits to utilities and their customers.”
