After a former Intel executive tweeted the scoop of her decision to join Lenovo’s data center group, the world’s largest PC manufacturer went ahead and disclosed several other moves among mangers at the Triangle-based business.

The moves are the latest in a series of changes made since Kirk Skaugen was named Executive Vice President and President, Data Center Group last November. Skaugen also is a former Intel executive.

As WRAL TechWire reported early Thursday, former Intel CIO Kim Stevenson had tweeted that she would be joining the Lenovo group.

Lenovo later confirmed her hiring, saying she would join the company as of May 1. Stevenson also said she would be moving to the Triangle.

Later that afternoon, Lenovo announced Stevenson’s addition as senior vice president and general manager.

But the news didn’t stop there.

Lenovo also made several organizational moves and named three executives to different positions. The changes are designed “to further accelerate growth in its global data center business,” the company said.

Stevenson, who at one time lived in the Triangle and worked at IBM, recently left Intel and will now lead a new Data Center Infrastructure, or DCI, business, Lenovo noted. “She will oversee the company’s core data center products and solutions portfolio,” the company explained.

“Kim is a widely respected and highly accomplished technology leader, and we’re honored to have her join our team. Her decision demonstrates our ability to attract the industry’s best talent in our drive to build an innovative and fiercely competitive data center company,” . In addition, our new segment-driven structure and global sales and marketing organization will enable us to be even more dynamic and responsive in helping our customers navigate today’s volatile technology and business landscape.”

Named to new positions were three current Lenovo execs:

  • Paul Ju, vice president and general manager, Hyperscale.
  • Madhu Matta, vice president and general manager, High-Performance Computing & Artificial Intelligence
  • Radhika Krishnan, executive director and general manager, Software-Defined Data Center

All have joined the company within the past two years.

Lenovo recently announced new software defined networking products.

Laura Latrello, current vice president and general manager of the data center group, “will continue in her role leading the data center services segment,” Lenovo added.
