“Crazy fast fiber Internet” as Ting describes its service goes “live” today in Holly Springs with its first residential customer.

Representatives from Ting Internet, which is based in Virginia, and the town of Holly Springs will be on hand for a media event to celebrate the service Monday afternoon.

Ting becomes the latest fiber Internet provider in the Triangle, joining AT&T, Google, Frontier Communications and others.

Plans by Ting to build fiber in Holly Springs were formally disclosed in October 2015.

Phase 1 construction includes neighborhoods of Holly Glen, Braxton Village and Holly Pointe. Phase 2, covering Oak Hall, Windcrest, Morgan Park, Windward Pointe, is underway.

“We’re through the ‘dirt and hard work’ phase of construction here in Phase 1,” said Adam Eisner, vice president for Networks at Ting Internet. “While construction of the larger network in Holly Springs is ongoing, we’re very happy to be able to start getting people connected with crazy fast fiber Internet here, starting today.”

Ting Internet home service pricing begins at $89 per month. For business, the cost is $139 per month.

A slower, lower-cost service is available for $19.
