Pendo’s software platform is designed to improve customer experiences. Its clients include Citrix, which has a large operation in Raleigh.

The acquisition of Insert, which also is a startup, will enable Pendo to provide customers “the most complete product experience platform across all screens and devices,” Pendo says.

In a blog post, Pendo CEO Todd Olson declared: “Going all-in on mobile.”

“We have already begun work integrating the products, and the goal is to provide a single platform that will support both web-based and mobile-based applications,” he explained.

“The combination of our technologies also gives us a unique opportunity to support hybrid applications, which is incredibly innovative. Imagine a single interface that visualizes usage across your web and mobile product, and then lets you create campaigns that boost engagement across devices and screens. It’s absolutely one of a kind.”

In the announcement, Olson said Insert mobile technologies “directly complement Pendo’s approach to Web applications. Combined, both platforms will provide a complete solution for product teams – helping them to create products customers love – whether they are Web, hybrid, or native mobile.”

Insert launched in 2015, Pendo in 2013.

“With Insert, Pendo acquires a team that shares its passion for great product experiences. This combined platform allows product teams to better understand mobile users and deliver personalized experiences at the right mobile moments, when users are likely to get the best value,” said Shahar Kaminitz, founder and CEO of Insert.
