Video game developers and people hoping to find jobs in the gaming industry will see and get a chance to try out evolving virtual reality tech first hand with “Robo Recall” demos and more.
Epic Games is bringing a big virtual reality experience built around Robo Recall, now available for Oculus Rift VR systems, to the East Coast Game Conference in Raleigh next week.
“VR provides a level of immersion like never before. Our goal with Robo Recall was to take advantage of these new tools to provide an over-the-top, memorable and replayable experience that defines a new generation of shooter,” said Epic Producer Tommy Jacob. “Robo Recall builds on what we learned from our Bullet Train demo in regard to creating an exciting, visceral and comfortable VR experience.”
Epic, which is based in Cary and is a global leader in VR as well as game enging development technology, is one of the main sponsors for the conference. Now in its ninth year, the event will feature a “VR Village” development track for programmers.
There also will be an Unreal Theater providing insight into development of its Unreal game engine.
The conference runs April 18-20 at the Raleigh Conference Center.
