The high-tech communities in the Triangle and Austin, Texas, are getting more closely connected. Delta Airlines on Monday announced the launch of daily nonstop service between the two cities on March 9, 2017.

The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority reports that more than 250 people fly between Austin and RDU already through connecting flights.

Tickets are now on sale.

Prices range from $318 (main cabin) to $818 (first class), according to a check of Delta’s website.

“We are thrilled Delta Air Lines will be adding nonstop service to Austin, which is our largest unserved nonstop market,” said Michael Landguth, CEO of the RDU Authority, in the announcement. “We have been working for some time to attract nonstop service to Austin, as the city has many synergies with the Research Triangle Region including information technology and business analytics industries along with strong higher education ties.”

The Austin addition is the latest in a series of direct flights added between the Triangle and other popular business destinations such as San Francisco. RDU now offers 46 nonstop destinations.

The Delta flight will depart RDU at 8:30 a.m.

It will depart Austin at 11:15 a.m.

Delta says it will utilize a Canadair Regional Jet-900.
