Virginia-based Nuvotronics plans to open a 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Durham along with 10,000 more square feet of cleanroom space.
The company did not disclose how many jobs it plans to create in the Triangle but said the talent base in the region helped it decide to pick Durham.
Nuvotronics is based in Radford, Va. and focuses on radio frequency hardware as well as other defense technology.
“North Carolina is one of the fastest-growing states in the nation, and the Research Triangle region is a wonderful, technology-rich area that will suit our growing needs well,” said company president David Sherrer. “We look forward to continuing to deliver game-changing performance and size, weight, and power benefits in our customers’ microwave and millimeter-wave systems, and our Durham facilities will allow us to surpass all expectations.”
Nuvotronics plans to open an 8-inch chip production line. It operates a 6-inch semiconductor facility in Radford.
