A banker who helped the company grow is now its top finance officer.

Doug Driver, a former executive at Wells Fargo and Wachovia, is the new chief financial officer and vice president of operations at Raleigh-based I-Cubed, the data consulting and services firm said Tuesday.

Driver had worked with I-Cubed previously as its “banker,” noted I-Cubed Chief Executive Officer Donald Thompson.

I-Cubed stands for “integrated industrial information.”

The company hired 45 people in 2012 and has aggressive growth plans for 2013.

“We couldn’t have found a better match for this position,” Thompson said. “We were honored and impressed that as Doug has watched us grow from a $1 million company to a $10 million company as our banker, he wanted to bring his talents to the table to help us develop into a $25 million organization.”

Driver worked with Wells Fargo for more than 14 years, including the last decade spent focusing on small- and mid-market companies.

“I have had the opportunity to get to know Donald and the team at I-Cubed over the last several years,” Driver said in the announcement of his hiring. “I have been impressed by not only the success they have earned, but the way in which they have earned it. A great opportunity exists to build on that previous success and add infrastructure for new business in enterprise web content management, as well as expand current data migration and PLM [product lifecycle management] consulting services.”

I-Cubed, which launched in 1984, provides product lifecycle management consulting, data migration, enterprise web and application services.
