Startups, contractors, consultants looking for office space? You have a new option in Holly Springs.

The Town on Friday cut the ribbon on the new “community workplace,” which covers 3,500 square feet.

The mission: “To create a community work-space in Holly Springs, because life is too short to work alone.”

It’s located in the former police department building in downtown.

“We focus on the ‘co’ in coworking and intend to create an atmosphere of COllaboration and COmmunity along with COnference space, COpy machines and COffee! Discounted rent is provided to non-profits in the hopes of creating and environment where for-profit and non-profits can work side by side to make the world a better place,” Coworking Station says.

A variety of rental plans are available.

Coworking Station joins a growing number of shared office space facilities across the Triangle such as HQ Raleigh and The American Underground.

The facility is operated by Holly Springs resident Jon Harol, who leased the building from the Town after it invested $30,000 to refit the structure. He is co-owner of Lighthouse Recruiting and Laboratory Start-Up Consultants with his brother, Chris.

Features include:

  • 45 work stations
  • Private and shared offices
  • A variety of office resources such as high-speed Internet
