Communications technology firm CommScope has emerged as the victor in Chinese courts in a patent dispute with international communications firm Comba Telecom Systems.
CommScope, which is privately held and based in Hickory, says it prevailed in a battle over phase shifter technology it had patented for base station wireless antennas.
Shifters are used to improve the effectiveness of an antenna’s beams.
A People’s Court in Beijing awarded damages in the case. A Chinese patent board earlier rejected Comba’s efforts to invalidate the contested patent, CommScope said.
