On the heels of last week’s Citrix Venture Accelerator Innovators Program announcement, HQ Raleigh announced on Friday a partnership with the City of Raleigh to support the program this fall.

The three-month residency program, which also takes place in Silicon Valley and other locations across the globe, seeks to cultivate breakthrough mobile, cloud, and collaboration technologies.

The Raleigh program will be located at the new Citrix-Sharefile office in the Warehouse District.

“Our office is excited about the partnership with the HQ-Citrix Accelerator,” said James Sauls, manager of Raleigh’s Office of Economic Development. “Public-private partnerships are exactly what we seek to establish, as they allow the City to support and grow the types of technologies we want to have here in Raleigh.

As a public partner, the city will enable teams to access capital connections and civic resources, while also enhancing the program’s impact on Raleigh’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Additionally, the city will offer an opportunity for teams to apply for city funding if they locate their ventures in Raleigh.

“Citrix’s presence in Raleigh is helping to transform our city into one of the top centers of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country,” said Raleigh City Councilor Mary-Ann Baldwin. “The accelerator will help Raleigh startups and also expose others outside the area to our community.

Applications for the Citrix Venture Accelerator are now open. Winning participatns will be selected at the Innovate Raleigh Summit on Sept. 10, and the program officially begins on Sept. 17.

The accelerator provides mentorship, lean startup coaching, and workspace to 10 early-stage startups with a primary focus on developing innovative technologies.

Citrix, which has a large presence in Raleigh after acquiring ShareFile in 2011, announced last month that it was bringing its Startup Accelerator Innovators Program to the Triangle.

HQ Raleigh was co-founded by former ShareFile CEO Jesse Lipson.
