Citrix, which has a large presence in Raleigh after acquiring ShareFile in 2011, is bringing its Startup Accelerator Innovators Program to the Triangle.

Its local partner is HQ Raleigh, which was co-founded by former ShareFile CEO Jesse Lipson.

Citrix, which is based in Silicon Valley, launched its first accelerator program there last month.

The program includes a three-month residence and provides selected teams with various technologies from Citrix personnel and partners.

Citrix Sharefile’s new headquarters in the Raleigh warehouse district will house 10 teams.

HQ Raleigh, a shared office space complex, is located nearby.

“We’re helping entrepreneurs build the next-generation of breakthrough technologies and companies,” said Lipson, who now is vice president and general manager of Data Sharing for Citrix.

“Though I’ve been part of Citrix for several years now, I still feel like and approach my work like an entrepreneur and I want to help the Research Triangle area become a top-five region for entrepreneurship and innovation in the U.S.,” Lipson added in a statement.

HQ Raleigh and Citrix staff will collaborate on the accelerator program administration.

“The focus of the Innovators Program is on accelerating breakthrough business solutions and openly sharing approaches that have been integral to Citrix innovation,” said John McIntyre, managing director of the Citrix Startup Accelerator. “We are building bridges between Silicon Valley and other innovation ecosystems to help new companies succeed in this dynamic and transformative mobile era.”

Teams interested in applying can do so online now.

Winners will be selected at the Innovate Raleigh Summit on Sept. 10. The program launches Sept. 17.
