Entrepreneurs working to address environmental issues now have the opportunity to find support for their ventures through the Cherokee-McDonough Challenge.

The Challenge is accepting applications for its 2014 accelerator program. This application cycle is open through April 15.

Now in its fourth year, the Challenge will invest in up to five environmental startups. Ventures accepted in the program will receive:

  • Hands-on mentoring from Cherokee and an advisory committee of experienced entrepreneurs and investors
  • An opportunity to present to other investors and the public at a showcase finale
  • $20,000 in seed funding
  • Office space for three months in Raleigh
  • Assistance with incorporation, accounting and tax compliance, IP strategy, commercialization strategy, preparing fundraising documents and communicating effectively
