OfficeAccord is off to a fast start with what it calls the “first turnkey digital bulletin board” for companies who want a tool to cut down on non-work communications that “disrupt” work flow.

Just weeks after launch, CEO Ben Comstock says OfficeAccord already has landed Harvard University as a client and has pilot tests underway at Citrix as well as UC-Santa Barbara.

The company is among the presenters at the CED Tech Venture conference in Raleigh.

This profile is the 30th in a series published as part of a partnership between the CED and WRAL TechWire.

The Q&A follows:

  • What is the focus of your business?

To reduce non-work related emails and group chats from disrupting employee workflow, OfficeAccord has developed the first turnkey digital bulletin board for posting company notifications, employee classifieds, events, housing, ride shares, and more. These intranet compatible tools help provide useful solutions to enhancing employee communication, community and retention.

  • What is the top pain point/business application you are seeking to address?

The average knowledge worker spends an estimated 30 minutes managing non-core business related communication. This overwhelming quantity of non-business related communication proves the office bulletin board still has a use; it just needs a technological facelift. OfficeAccord has done just that.

  • What makes it unique?

Unlike group chatting tools like Slack, Yammer or HipChat, which can become endless, time-consuming comment threads, OfficeAccord operates like an internal Craigslist for quick easy posting and no “chatter.”

  • Why should investors be interested in your firm?

We are 100% self-funded.
Been live for one month. First client was Harvard University.
Current pilots at Citrix and UC Santa Barbara
