Q&A

  • What is the primary pain point you are seeking to address?

At Mapout, we’re working on educating patients to manage their care and make informed decisions on treatment options that will improve their quality of life. Using our mobile learning platform, we provide healthcare professionals with a tool for delivering on demand, video-based education materials directly to a patient’s mobile phone or tablet. Patients download a mobile app, login and instantly have access to videos and education materials from their healthcare team. Education materials are bundled into courses consisting of short video lessons, supplemental reading materials, decision making guides and links.

Courses are personalized for the patient’s stage of care and deliver information on their condition and treatment options. Using Mapout, patients have the information they need at their fingertips to take a more active role in managing their care and healthcare providers can deliver personalized, medically accurate care information to their patients.

  • What sets your company apart? What’s the “secret sauce”?

Mapout creates iOS, Android and browser based apps that are branded and personalized for each healthcare provider. We leverage our mobile learning platform to reduce the time to market, while also allowing providers to customize the apps. Apps are available on the App Store, Google Play or from a web browser.

Patients can download the app and have instant access to educational materials from their care teams. Mobile apps provide accessibility to a wide demographic of patients due to the proliferation of mobile phones and course materials can be downloaded for watching offline. Healthcare providers can easily create and update video based courses using the cloud based Mapout dashboard with changes immediately available to patients. They can also access leverage a library of healthcare courses available on the Mapout platform.

Courses consist of a series of short video lessons, supplemental reading materials, decision making guides and links that are bundled and made accessible to patients. Video courses offer a more personal medium for care teams to relay information about a patient’s condition.

  • Why should investors be interested in your company? What is the potential market size?

As the healthcare shift continues to a value-based reimbursement model, Mapout allows healthcare providers to engage with patients outside of the doctor’s office and have a more active role in their care. It also reduces the burden on providers, by allowing them to create educational content once or leverage content from our library, and provide it to new patients with low overhead.

Patients and healthcare providers also have access to information on new treatments, innovations and medical technologies delivered as educational courses on the Mapout platform. Patients can understand if they are a good candidate and healthcare professionals can get instant access to the latest innovations.
