DZone, an emerging entrepreneurial company in Cary that provides a growing variety of content for software programmers and web designers, has landed a New York capital firm as an investor.

DZone touts itself as providing “smart content for tech professionals.”

And New York state-based SFW Capital Partners has decided to invest in the privately held firm along with its co-founders and top executives Rick Ross (CEO) and Matt Schmidt (president, CTO).

The amount of the investment was not disclosed.

DZone says it will utilize the new capital for expand products, sales and marketing and “access” new markets. The company launched in 2006 and operates DZone Media as well as AnswerHub.

“We are extremely excited to be partnering with the SFW team,” Ross and Schmidt said in a statement. “After a thorough process evaluating a breadth of investment partners, we feel strongly that SFW’s relevant experience supporting the growth and development of information and software businesses, their deep knowledge of our Company and markets, and their strong industry-specific network will best position DZone for accelerated growth and development.”

Sarwar joins the DZone board as part of the deal.
