Amen to jge's comments! Can't the NCNGN/AT&T efforts extend beyond town limits? Many of us who live just outside Carrboro are operating small businesses from our homes -- businesses that are integral to the community -- yet our service complaints seem to carry little weight thus far.
Hip-hip hooray ! So what about those of us who are living in the surrounding communities ? I (and my neighbors) live a few miles from the Carrboro city limits. The best we can get is 3 MEGA bits (yes, over two orders of magnitude slower) but we don't really get that much of the time, due to significant latencies and frequent dropouts of service. Complaints to ATT are all but ignored. Letters to the town managers of Chapel Hill and Carrboro have also been ignored. To heck with us.
