The Carolina Hurricanes and PNC Arena have partnered with Uber, making the ride-sharing app the official preferred service of that type for the team and venue.

The multi-year partnership, announced Monday, includes a new Uber Zone outside of PNC Arena and periodic Uber Upgrade promotions that offer Hurricanes fans the opportunity to win four Champions Club tickets to home games.

“Having the Uber Zone will make it that much easier for fans to use Uber to get to and from Hurricanes games and other PNC Arena events,” said Don Waddell, President of the Hurricanes and PNC Arena parent company Gale Force Sports & Entertainment. “Working with the leading ridesharing company is a great way to enhance guests’ experiences when attending events at PNC Arena.”

The Uber Zone will be located outside the south entrances at PNC arena, giving fans a dropoff and pick-up meeting point pre- and post-game at the Hurricanes home arena. The Zone will be open for use for all other PNC Arena events, including NC State men’s basketball games, concerts and other shows.

“Getting people a reliable and affordable ride at the touch of a button is what Uber is all about,” said Uber North Carolina General Manager Raj Naik. “We’re excited to partner with the Hurricanes and PNC Arena, and we hope the new Uber Zone will make it even easier for fans to take Uber to and from Hurricanes games and all the great events PNC Arena has to offer.”
