Nextreme Thermal Solutions Names Scientific Advisory Board

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. -- Startup Nextreme Thermal Solutions, which is developing cooling solutions for semiconductor and optoelectronic chips and precise temperature controls for other applications, has named a four-member scientific advisory board to help guide its technology development.

The board members are:

Lon Bell, an expert in the mass production of thermoelectric products. In 1967 Bell founded Technar, a manufacturer of automotive airbag components. He currently is president of BSST LLC, which develops advanced thermoelectric systems. BSST has developed and demonstrated the highest system efficiency achieved with thermoelectric technology to date, according to Nextreme Thermal.

Ralph Cavin, III, an expert on the next generation of semiconductor products, is currently vice president for research operations at the Semiconductor Research Corporation.

Mildred Dresselhaus, an expert in materials science, is the chair of the governing board of the American Institute of Physics. Dresselhaus has received numerous awards, including the National Medal of Science. She is the co-author of four books on carbon science.

M. Michael Yovanovich, an expert in thermal heat transfer and thermal electronics, is the founder and principal scientific advisor to the Microelectronics Heat Transfer Laboratory at the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario.
