Atlanta startup Band Metrics lands angel funding
Startup Band Metrics, which provides a variety of sales and performance services to musicians, has closed on an angel investment from Allen Graber, an Atlanta entrepreneur and high-tech investor.
The amount of the investment was not disclosed.
Graber will join Band Metrics’ board as part of the deal.
"Global music content is increasing at unprecedented rates, as [do it yourself] tools and social networks are allowing artists to easily create, distribute, and share their music online,” Graber said in a statement. “However, there is presently no effective way for artists to then measure activity relative to their songs. We think Band Metrics has good growth potential as the company provides analytics that help bands, musicians and music industry professionals understand how their music is purchased, played and shared online.”
Band Metrics offers what it calls “music intelligence and analytics” and is seeking patent coverage.
The company is offering a beta service at this point.
