DG FastChannel, a provider of digital media services, has closed on the acquisition of Georgia-based Pathfire.

The $30 million deal was announced last month.

Pathfire, which had been privately held, raised $124 million in venture funding from such investors of Noro-Moseley Partners in Atlanta.

Pathfire distributes content over a server-based network through satellite and Internet technology. Its technology is used by some 1,400 television stations in the U.S.

Scott K. Ginsburg, chairman and chief executive officer of DG FastChannel, and Omar Choucair, DG FastChannel’s chief financial officer, will lead the merged company.
