RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Some late-breaking rumors for the “Gears of War 3” possible sequel from Epic Games:
Epic’s creative mastermind Cliffy B. Bleszinski is at it again with more tweets from his Twitter accountthat hint at a Gears 3.
“Never let ‘I didn't beat the first one’ ever keep you from playing the sequel,” he tweeted on Sunday.
Later that evening he added:
“In games we do things in threes. I don't know why, honestly, we just do.”
So what else has Epic done in threes?
Unreal Tournament
And its Unreal engine
What else? How about hints.
There’s a Game developers Conference coming up and CliffyB added this post Monday night:
“Considering bringing a Lancer to GDC and hurridly running through the show like I'm late for something.”
The Lancer is the chainsaw-equipped assault rifle carried by the human heroes in the Gears series.
Click here for the weekend Skinny about Epic President Mike Capps’ latest hints.
Capps hinted at an announcement at the E3 show this summer. But will any announcement by then about Gears 3 be real news? The bet here is that Epic will soon cool the Gears talk – or just go ahead and announce it at GDC before the scuttlebutt becomes boring.
